Score Up to 60,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards Points With New Card Offers

This deal doesn't come along often. If you ever fly Southwest, read this.

What’s the next destination on your travel bucket list? Is there money in the piggy bank for it?

If you’re an explorer, you may know that Southwest Airlines is now the country’s — with flights to 99 cities in the United States as well as 10 international destinations — with some 4,000 departures a day in peak travel season. Now, three new Southwest Airlines credit card offers allow you to leverage the airline’s reach — stacking up Rapid Rewards Points — rapidly!

Check out all three and see which one best serves your travel needs and spending habits.

Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Credit Card (compare this offer with other travel cards )

For the relatively modest credit card use of $1,000 in the first three months, this card will rack up 40,000 Rapid Rewards Points — and another 6,000 bonus points after your anniversary as a card member.

When you use your Premier card for Southwest flights, or with partner hotels and car rentals, you will earn two points for every $1. Other purchases ring up a point per dollar.

Among the benefits of the Southwest Rapid Rewards program:

  • No blackout dates
  • No seat restrictions
  • Bags fly free
  • No change fees
  • No foreign transaction fees

This card also carries a $99 annual fee.

Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus Credit Card (compare with other travel card deals )

Like the Premier Card, the Plus Card chalks up 40,000 Rapid Rewards Points when you use it for $1,000 worth of purchases in the first three months. As with the Premier Card, you earn two points for $1 spent on Southwest flights, or with partner hotels and car rentals, and a point per dollar on other purchases.

The main difference: The Plus Card carries a lower annual fee than the Premier — $69 — and then grants 3,000 bonus points (instead of 6,000) on your card member anniversary.

The Plus Card offers these travel benefits:

  • No blackout dates
  • No seat restrictions
  • Bags fly free
  • No change fees

Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Premier Business Card (compare with other travel card deals )

Want a card that takes advantage of all those business expenses you and your employees are ringing up? This may be the right deal for you.

The Premier Business Card earns 60,000 Rapid Rewards Points after spending $3,000 in the first three months — and another 6,000 bonus points upon your card member anniversary. Get additional cards for your employees at no cost and earn rewards on their spending as well.

Like the two cards above the Premier Business Card racks up two points for every $1 spent on Southwest flights, or with partner hotels and car rentals. Other purchases ring up a point per dollar.

Again, some of the benefits:

  • No blackout dates for rewards flights
  • No seat restrictions
  • Bags fly free
  • No change fees
  • No foreign transaction fees

This card has a $99 annual fee.

Of course, always remember that the goal is to pay off credit card balances as the bills come in. If you can’t do that, the interest payments eat into the benefits of the rewards you accumulate.

One last thought: If you do not have excellent credit, you may not qualify for the above cards. If you’re more in the “good credit” category, check out the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card. .
